The Current Location Frame in the Enterprise version contains links to features that are accessed by menu commands in the Pro/Ultra and Workgroup versions. The location text box indicates the currently selected Inventory location. With the exception of searches, actions performed via the links in this frame apply to the currently selected location. You may enter a locationID value into the location box to rapidly access a location on the tree. A barcode reader may be used to enter a locationID value into this box, further expediting navigation to a given location. Locations The New Location form has the same basic fields in all versions: Parent Location, Location, Location Name, Location Type, Location Owner, Grid Format, and Description. In addition, the Enterprise version allows for defining reaction plate types. Required fields are indicated with color. The Edit Location form is the same as New Location, but without a Parent Location field. (You “edit” the parent location by using the Move Location command.) The Location forms are accessed from the Manage menu in Inventory Pro/Ultra/Workgroup, and from the ... Location links in the Current Location Frame in Inventory Enterprise. Forms In addition to the main Inventory GUI, there are a number of forms for creating and editing substances, containers, and locations, and for searching substances and containers. These are accessed from menus (Pro/Ultra/Workgroup) or hyperlinks (Enterprise). Containers New and Edit Container are tabbed forms with many optional fields defining the container and the substance in it. The top-most tab contains the required fields. Container forms are accessed from the Manage menu in Inventory Pro/Ultra/Workgroup. In Inventory Enterprise, the new container form is accessed from the New Container link in the Current Location Frame, and edit forms from the links in the Substance Details Frame. The Search Container form is accessed from the Search menu in Inventory Pro/Ultra/Workgroup, and from the New Search link in the Current Location Frame in Inventory Enterprise. See “Searching for Containers” on page 69 for more information. Substances New substances are usually created along with new containers. For this reason, the links to the New Substance forms are found on the New Container form. (In addition, Inventory Enterprise can access the New Substance form from the Manage Substances page by clicking the Add Mode button.)
