Adding a Product/Substance Adding a Sample Administrator To register a substance in Formulations & Mixtures: 1. From the Main Menu, click Add Substance. The Substance Form appears. To add a sample to a substance record in Formulations & Mixtures: 1. From the Main Menu, click Add Sample. 2. Select a substance registration number and click OK. The Substance registration number is automatically generated when a substance record is created. This number will be displayed when viewing the substance record. The Sample Form appears. 2. Enter a substance name. 3. Highlight a component under Available Components that makes up a part of the substance. 4. Enter the percentage of the substance that is the highlighted component and click to move the component to the Selected Components list. As components are added, they will be listed in the right column in a tree-like interface. 5. Enter other appropriate information. The Substance registration and sample registration numbers are automatically generated. These numbers will be displayed when viewing a record. 3. Select an experiment type and click Next. Step 2 of 3 of the Analytics Form appears. The Query Input form appears. 4. Enter the appropriate information. For more information about a particular field, please see “Search Form Fields” on page 13. 5. Click Add Record. Query and Reporting All of the records in the Formulations & Mixtures Registration database can be searched for using any of the fields that were entered in the initial record. A query contains information about fields to search under and what to search for. Creating a query is the first step in finding the correct record. For more information about the different kinds of queries you can create, see Searching in the ChemOffice WebServer User’s Guide. In order to begin your search: 1. From the Main Menu, choose Search. 2. Enter the desired information in the appropriate boxes and click Search. For more information about a particular field in the form, please see “Record Fields” on page 311. Making your search as specific as possible is often helpful, especially when the number of records in the database is large. Most often, the more specific a search is, the lower the number of records returned will be. If you are having trouble finding the correct record, it may be that your search is too specific. Try broadening your search in order to return more records. For more information about the different kinds of queries you can create, see Searching in the ChemOffice WebServer User’s Guide. Viewing Details of a Record When you complete a search, records are returned and displayed in a table format, or a list. Details of a record can be viewed in an expanded format.
