Creating Daughter Plates
The Create Daughter Plates function allows a user
to create any number of daughter plates from a
parent as long as the parent plate contains enough
contents to fulfill the request. That is, if you would
like to create 6 daughter plates taking 10 ml of a
substance from the source plate which only
contains 10 ml, you will be denied.
To create daughter plates:
Create Daughter Plates - by Source Plate
If by Source Plate Amount was chosen, the
following screen appears:
1. Search for or browse to the source plate.
2. Open the plate in the Details Frame.
3. Click Create Daughter Plates.
The Create Daughter Plate dialog appears.
1. Select Yes if a solvent will be added to the plate
during daughtering.
2. Click Next.
• if No:
4. Select a radio button:
• by Source Plate Amount – enter parameters
based on what is taken from the source plate
• by Target Plate Concentration – enter
parameters based on the characteristics of
the daughter plates
5. Click Next.

3. Enter the appropriate information.
4. Click Next.
