- 197 -StaffingThe staff proposed for Destination <strong>Labrador</strong> would include an Executive Director <strong>and</strong> threeSpecial Team Leaders:" One to address service quality through the Business Support Fund," One to provide development <strong>and</strong> operational assistance to new capital projects such asGateways, <strong>and</strong>" The third to focus on resource management issues <strong>and</strong> improvements to routes <strong>and</strong> trails.Regional tourism associations would be designated Local Chapters of Destination <strong>Labrador</strong> <strong>and</strong>assist with product development.OtherAdditional product development proposals in the Destination <strong>Development</strong> Plan include thefollowing:" Snowmobile TourismThere is a need to focus on developing more support infrastructure, includingaccommodations <strong>and</strong> other support services along the <strong>Labrador</strong> Winter Trails network.The network includes over 1,500 km of trails across <strong>Labrador</strong>, which also connects into anetwork of Québec trails." Expedition CruisingThe Plan calls for coastal communities to develop the capability of servicing the cruisemarket, to maximize local benefits (discussed further below)." Hunting <strong>Product</strong> EnhancementThe priority in this area is to manage hunting from the Trans <strong>Labrador</strong> Highway (ie,reduce hunting from the highway) <strong>and</strong> develop more remote hunting opportunities." Tourism AccordOnce Destination <strong>Labrador</strong> is operational, the Plan recommends that a Destination<strong>Labrador</strong> Tourism Accord be signed by all major stakeholders including the threeaboriginal organizations, Combined Councils of <strong>Labrador</strong>, the 5 Zonal Boards, <strong>Labrador</strong>Outfitters Association <strong>and</strong> Regional Tourism Associations.
