Podujevo 1999 – Beyond Reasonable DoubtPodujevo, we were told that none of us could go in the town, but that weshould go further towards Šajkovac.I was in Podujevo only once during the bombing; I cannot remember theexact date. They first demanded that we go to the municipal authoritiesand get some documents, forms, which we were supposed to fill in, in orderto be able to move freely. There I ran into Mr. Petrović Pero, I think heworked in the municipal authorities; he was something like a trade Inspector.I asked him to help me get to Mr. Srboljub. He said he would take careof it and let me know whether or not I could speak to him. I also asked himto inform me if he found out anything about my daughter’s fate. She was inBelgrade at that time. I insisted three times and this gentleman told me tocome to his office at 2 o’clock in the afternoon. Since it was not possible towalk around at that time, I gave up this idea. I went there for the first timeon 20 or 21 April 1999. Nebojša Maljević escorted me, as well as ShefqetJashari 34 . Nebojša Maljević was the first to enter my house and told us thatwe could not go inside because the house was taken. Army took over ourhouse. Then Svetlana Filipović came. She was crying and asking what happenedto my family. She said, ‘Thank God you were all saved’. She askedme what happened with Shefket 35 as if she did not already know. I told herthat she knows better than I do what happened since they worked togetherin the Outpatient Clinic. My cousin asked Maljević if he knew anythingabout our family. He said that nothing happened in our yard. He addedthat something happened in Selman Gashi’s yard; he said that two old menwere killed. I did not speak to anybody else. My cousin and my friend Enverdid. I just went to Srboljub Biserčić and he did not want to speak to me.He kept saying he was busy.”As an answer to the question asked by the injured parties’ representative,attorney Teki Bokshi, the witness said:“I know where Rahman Morina Street is.
