I recognise the defendant’s face. He is the person, who heldhis rifle pointed at my chest, hit me with the gunstock, and shot in theair.’The deputy district public prosecutor asked a question and the witnesssaid:“The man I recognise as the defendant was behaving insolently; he wassaying all the time ‘why didn’t you get out. What were you waiting for?’ Iargued with him for 15 or 20 minutes, maybe longer, until my family memberscame out of the house. He was pushing me with the barrel of his rifleand because of his behaviour I concluded he was in charge becausethat is how he behaved. He was furious. I am saying that there are 20 metresfrom the house I was in to Selman Gashi’s house on the same street.Right behind Selman Gashi’s house on the same street there is Safet Bogujevci’shouse. Halim Gashi’s house is located at the intersection betweenKosančić Ivan and Rahman Morina Streets, but this house’s yard is borderingwith Selman Gashi’s yard and probably with the Bogujevci’s yard. I donot know exactly who is bordering with whom. You can enter any of theseyards through other yards. That means that you could go from the yard thatbelongs to the house I was in into Safet Bogujevci’s yard without going outon the street. This means it was possible to go in there through this yard.There was a wire around each yard. We always had passages between theneighbouring yards. We had them before and we still do.”188
