My wifeAfrodita does not know anything about this case. She might know somethingabout the killings in another part of the town and Jehona does notknow anything.”Defence counsellor ore Kalanj said he was sorry because of what happenedto the witness. He asked the witness a question and the witness answered:“The town was almost completely empty on 29 March 1999 and I meantthe part of the town where I lived. All of my neighbours were in the meadowwith us that day my brother and I left and only my and Enver’s familiesstayed and we did not know what happened to them.”The defendant said he was sorry because of what the witness and familywent through, but denied that he had been in the witness’ yard and saidthat he did not shoot at the civilians in Podujevo. He said they had thewrong man sitting in the courtroom and those who committed this shouldbe prosecuted.No further questions for the witness.After this, the deputy district public prosecutor proposed that the reportsfrom the Priština Hospital and Tiršova Children’s Hospital in Belgradeshould be obtained in the course of the probative procedure in order todetermine the type and level of the wounds suffered by these children.She added that Albanian witnesses listed in the Humanitarian Law Centre’ssubmission should be examined.Besides them, Bogujevci Vallbona, Jusufi Isak, Duriqi Enver, and DuriqiShemsa 51 should be examined, too. It is noted that Jusufi Isak is from thevillage of Donja Dubnica.151
