I have no objections and this is the first time I give astatement according to my free will. That is my defence.Since the court is giving me right to say anything else I have to say in mydefence, I also underline this - in May 2000, in Novi Sad cafe called Bonaparta,somebody from the State Security Service tried to kill me. Those weresome people from the South hired to execute me. They rented a countryhouse near Novi Sad. I found that from a police officer who tried to warnme of that. They were supposed to execute me, so that I would not appearbefore this court and say what I said today.”When the state prosecutor asked the defendant why did he say during theprocess of identification that he did not have a nickname, while it is writtenin the statement he gave to the investigative judge on 24 May 1999 that hisnickname was “Kobra”, the defendant said, “My only nickname could beSale. Nobody calls me Kobra and the investigative judge could have writtenthat my nickname was Rambo if he wanted to.”The state prosecutor asked the defendant to explain why did the SAJ CommanderVuk cuss at him after the event when the defendant went out onthe street and Commander Vuk arrived there along with other commanders.“I have already explained that he was speaking to the group of people onhis right. I was in that group, too. He was looking at us, and that includesme too. So, if he cussed at them, then he cussed at me, too, and that is whyI reacted. He was telling us, “You are pussies” and I told him, “You are apussy”. I responded to his curses the same way.
