Podujevo 1999 – Beyond Reasonable DoubtVuk, too, was in the dark about this, I think it was so because they said everythingwas clean.Guljo and his men were late for the line up; we were ordered to board thebuses, a volley or two could still be heard and Boca told Rajko to return andsee as there probably were some of our men there. Rajko came back withthose men and at that moment a number of sniper shots were heard andwe were one hundred percent sure it was KLA shooting at Žućo’s group. We stayed some ten days in Prolom Banja and were told to keep silentabout all this. SAJ was paying my salary normally; the unit commander,Boca Medić, handed out our salaries. I know this happened atthe time NATO began attacks on Yugoslavia and, on 24 March 1999, BocaMedić, who leads the Scorpions unit as part of the SAJ, called me and I acceptedhis invitation, and he told me that an attack on our country hadbeen launched.
