Humanitarian Law CenterWe came by buses in the centre of the town and after we arrived we wereordered to get off the buses because it was not safe to stay on the busesbecause of the bombing. I got off the bus. I was mostly with my friendMilovan Tomić whom I knew from before. After some 20 or 30 minutes ofhanging around, we were told to look for accommodation in the houses.Tomić and I went together and I saw a lot of police in the town. I think thatsomebody from SAJ told us to go in that specific street. I saw a lot of policeon this street. It was in the afternoon, I do not know the exact time. It wasstill daylight. I did not see a lot of civilians on the street. I only saw, at theend of the asphalt road, that some civilians were running across the road.Tomić and I went inside one yard where there is something that I call amphorapassage. That means two houses connected with a roof. I saw thatthere was nobody in the house. I went inside one of the rooms in the houseand according to the things I found in there, I concluded that people leftthe house recently. I was in the yard in front of the entrance to the roomand that is actually like a small separated house.In that moment I saw a group of civilians entering the yard. DefendantSaša Cvjetan escorted them. There was one man in that group of civilians,the rest of them were women and children. When I entered this yard therewere already several Scorpions members in there. There were little Zickowhose last name is Šolaja, Aleksandar Dabić and Zdravko Smiljić. I thinkthat Dragan Medić “Gulja” came with the civilians then. Actually, I knowthis because I saw him. I paid more attention to the civilians and I did notsee who came with Medić. I think there was another police officer from theregular police force besides the people that I have just mentioned. However,I do not know him and I am not even sure if he stayed in that yard ornot. It is possible that he left together with the civilians. When these civiliansentered the yard then Zicko Šolaja searched them. I did not see if anybodyelse searched them. Milovan Tomić stopped this searching. He toldZicko not to do that anymore or something like that.In this moment all people from the Scorpions that I have already namedwere in the yard, as well as Dragan Borojević and Nebojša Cekić, but hewent out with the civilians and he did not return. Tomić said that civiliansshould be taken out on the street. Tomić, Pero Čubra, and I were standingtogether when Tomić said, ‘What should we do? The best thing is to take176
