Humanitarian Law CenterSince nobody was coming out I broke the door and Rajko Olujić was behindme. One 30-year-old male came down the stairs. He had good physique, but he was holding his hand bent in a strange way. Since I knew thatterrorists could use diverse techniques, for my own safety, I hit him with thegun stock. He fell on the ground and then got up again. One woman, whowas standing next to him, said his arm was hurt. I removed a part of theshirt and above his elbow I saw a gunshot wound. That was a sign for methat he might be a terrorist. We told all of them to get out. Around ten personswere in that house. Maybe four or five of them came out of the house,so the total number of people in the yard was around ten. Only four or fiveof them were children. The others were men and women. Rajko then toldthese people to go out on the street. I also noticed that Rajko was crying,I saw tears in his eyes. He was probably reliving the memories of what ourfamilies went through during Operation Storm in Krajina.Rajko told them to go down the street. It was obvious that these peoplewere unwillingly leaving their house and yard. In order to make them hurryup and go to the place where Rajko sent them, I fired some ten bulletsfrom my automatic rifle. I fired that short burst of bullets in the air and Iguarantee that I did not hurt anybody on that occasion. Before this, beforethese people came out of their house into the yard I spotted some Scorpionsmembers on the street. These people were located some 20 or 30 metresaway from the fence. I recognised Goran Staparić, a Scorpions member,Zlatko Lukić, also a Scorpions member, and I believe that Pavle Rokvić waswith them, as well. These were several other Scorpions members with themthat I did not know. Persons that I have just named and others, who werewith them, could see that I did not hurt, kill, or harm anybody in any way. After these people left the house I went back inside the house to search thepremises in which our platoon was supposed to be situated. On the upperfloor of the house, in one of the rooms on the right, I found a uniform andgrenades; in one room on the left, I found a Zbrojevka M 75 pistol, made inthe Czech Republic. It had a bullet loaded in the barrel, which I determinedby checking; I took the clip out and loaded the weapon. While I was still in the house, I heard gunfire - individual and bursts of bullets- from diverse weapons. It was coming from the direction we came andopposite from the direction these people - men, women, and children from62
