4. Spread compound evenly using mopping pads.<br />

a. Mopping pads shall be Quickie Professional Mighty Mop 077 or Rubbermaid 24” Microfiber Wet<br />

Room Pad.<br />

5. If whitening from over application occurs, consult manufacturer for removal of product with hot water and<br />

aggressive scrubbing.<br />

6. Do not allow compound to accumulate and puddle.<br />

7. Do not use polyethylene sheets or other impervious covers on exposed interior floors.<br />

3.15 FORM REMOVAL<br />

A. Do not remove forms until concrete has hardened sufficiently to support its own weight and imposed construction<br />

loads.<br />

B. Remove forms in manner to avoid damage to concrete.<br />

C. Formwork for slabs and pavements, curbs and other parts not supporting vertical load of concrete may be removed<br />

as soon as concrete has hardened sufficiently to resist damage from removal operations, but in no case sooner than<br />

12 hours.<br />

3.16 JOINT SEALING / FILLING<br />

A. Joint filling and sealing of concrete floors is specified in Section 07900.<br />

3.17 CONCRETE SURFACE TREATMENT<br />

A. Densifier and protective surface treatment are specified in Section 03362.<br />

3.18 BURNISHED CONCRETE FLOOR FINISHES<br />

A. Burnishing of concrete floor slabs which have received densifier is specified in Section 03362.<br />

3.19 QUALITY ASSURANCE TESTING AND INSPECTION (BY OWNER)<br />

A. Qualifications: Unless otherwise specified, work shall be preformed by a Special Inspector – Technical II or<br />

Special Inspector – Structural I. In addition to the Inspector and CTL qualifications specified in Section 01458,<br />

the following qualifications shall apply for all Cast-in-Place Concrete inspection.<br />

1. Technical I: ACI Certified Grade I inspector.<br />

2. Technical II: ACI Certified Grade II inspector.<br />

3. CTL testing laboratory: C.C.R.L. certification at the National Bureau of Standards.<br />

4. Lead technician shall have at least five years experience in projects of this size and complexity.<br />

5. Other technicians shall have at least two years experience.<br />

B. General<br />

1. Wal-Mart Testing Laboratory will perform concrete testing specified herein at no cost to the Contractor.<br />

2. Perform Tests and Inspections as indicated in Table A – Testing and Inspection Schedule at the end of this<br />

section. The Testing Agency shall keep records of the testing and inspections.<br />

3. Work on which tests have failed shall be corrected as directed by Wal-Mart Construction Manager.<br />

4. Submit copies of data and test results to Wal-Mart Construction Manager and Structural Engineer for<br />

review to verify mix designs.<br />

5. Perform testing in accordance with testing standards listed at the beginning of this section.<br />

6. Making and curing concrete test specimens shall be on conformance with ASTM C31.<br />

C. Laboratory Testing Requirements:<br />

1. Test items such as reinforcing steel, aggregates, and other products suspected of not meeting specified<br />
