C. Floor Burnishing Plan:
1. Prior to commencement of work, furnish floor burnishing plan to identify sequential progression of work,
including:
a. Size of individual nightly work areas
b. Electrical supply locations, including exterior access if generators are utilized
c. Unique work requirement locations (i.e. joint repairs, floor patching, etc.)
d. Anticipated start and finish date of work
D. Plan shall be reviewed and accepted by Wal-Mart Construction Manager and Wal-Mart Field Project Manager
prior to start of slab enhancement work.
E. Test Results:
1. Submit finished floor gloss test results and slip resistance produced by the CTL to the Wal-Mart Construction
Manager and Wal-Mart’s Concrete Consultant.
F. Closeout:
1. Verification of gallons used of densifier and stain guard for application.
1.4 PRODUCT DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING
A. Dispense surface densifier and stain guard material from factory numbered and sealed packages. Maintain record
of numbered packages.
1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE
A. Test area:
1. Clean, prepare, apply densifier and stain guard to a 200 square foot sample area located as directed by the
Wal-Mart Construction Manager. Burnish to specified gloss values.
2. Joint edge and vertical abutment conditions should be included in sample area.
3. Completed test installation must be approved by Wal-Mart Construction Manager prior to continuation of
main slab work.
4. Approved sample area will become part of the completed work.
B. Environmental Requirements:
1. Limit and control all noise, dust and moisture created by concrete surface enhancement work to meet all local,
state, and Federal ordinances, codes and laws.
2. Comply with lithium stain guard manufacturer’s written instructions for substrate temperature and moisture
content, ambient temperature and humidity, ventilation and other conditions affecting chemical performance.
3. Application of lithium stain guard shall be coordinated with Wal-Mart Construction Manager and Wal-
Mart Field Project Manager to ensure no foot traffic prior to drying.
C. Walmart Concrete Consultant:
1. Structural Services, Inc. (SSI), (214) 522-6438.
D. Mock Up: Prior to commencement of main slab work, prepare mock up for evaluation of surface preparation techniques,
ability of slab to accept specified products and procedures, and application workmanship.
1. Designate 200 square feet for mock up of system specified, using same materials, tools, equipment, and
procedures intended for actual surface preparation in Sales floor at location determined by the Wal-Mart
Construction Manager. Include properly prepared slab joints, surface spalls and crack repairs if available.
Include slab edges adjoining existing partitions/walls.
2. Notify Walmart Construction Manager minimum 14 days prior to date and time when mockups will be performed
and completed.
