PART 1 - GENERAL
1.1 SUMMARY
A. Section Includes:
1. Application of densifier and protective surface treatment and burnishing of concrete floor slabs.
2. Application of color-tinted densifier as required to tint new slab panels to match existing adjacent concrete
panels.

1.2 SUBMITTALS
A. Section 01330 - Submittal Procedures: Procedures for Submittals.
B. Submit to Architect specified in Section 01330 and to the Wal-Mart Construction Testing Laboratory specified in
Section 01458.
C. Product Data:
1. Densifier: Brand name, chemical composition, installation directions and certificates of compliance with
required standards. Submit 30 days prior to first concrete placement.
2. Protective Treatment: Brand name, chemical composition, installation directions and certificates of
compliance with required standards. Submit 30 days prior to first concrete placement.
3. Burnishing Pads: Submit product data for burnishing pads prior to beginning burnishing operations to
verify pad texture.
D. Applicator Qualifications:
1. Provide list of a minimum of 5 projects performed within the last 3 years of similar type, size and
complexity as this contract.
2. Provide documentation showing densifier and protective treatment applicator is certified by the densifier
manufacturer.
a. Letter shall be from the product manufacturer stating that the installer is qualified and certified
by the manufacturer to install the material to be used, citing the specific project and location.
3. Submit 30 days prior to first concrete placement.
E. Provide name of technically qualified densifier manufacturer’s field representative.
1.3 QUALITY ASSURANCE
A. Regulatory Requirements:
1. Accessibility Requirements: Comply with applicable requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act
Accessibility Guidelines (ADAAGs) for Buildings and Facilities; Final Guidelines, revisions, and updates
for static coefficient of friction for walkway surfaces.
B. Environmental Requirements:
1. Comply with current Federal and local toxicity and air quality regulations and with Federal requirements on
content of lead, mercury, and other heavy metals. Do not use solvents in floor polish products that
contribute to air pollution.
