SECTION 01310 - CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT AND COORDINATION<br />

PART 1 - GENERAL<br />

1.1 SUMMARY<br />

A. Section Includes:<br />

1.2 DEFINITIONS<br />

A. Remodel General Contractor: Responsible contractor, who constructs, coordinates, and supervises the<br />

construction of the total Remodel. Also referred to as the General Contractor.<br />

B. Separate Contractor: A contractor (either subcontractor, specialty contractor or vendor) hired separately by Wal-<br />

Mart and outside of General Contractor’s Construction Contract.<br />

C. Building Addition General Contractor: Contractor who constructs the Building Additions as a Special Project<br />

hired directly by Wal-Mart and under separate Construction Contract from Remodel General Contractor.<br />

D. Wal-Mart Construction Manager: The Wal-Mart (Owner’s) representative in all matters relating to the Work of<br />

the Project. The person responsible for all approvals with the Remodel General Contractor and the Building<br />

Addition General Contractor. This person also coordinates with the Separate Contractors .<br />

1.3 WAL-MART CONSTRUCTION MANAGER<br />

A. Wal-Mart will assign this project to a staff Wal-Mart Construction Manager. The Wal-Mart Construction<br />

Manager is the Owner's representative in all matters relating to the Work except that the Wal-Mart Mechanical<br />

Services Construction Manager is also considered the Owner’s representative in all matters relating to the Energy<br />

Management System, HVAC equipment and refrigeration equipment.<br />

B. Cooperate with the Wal-Mart Construction Manager in all matters relating to the Work on this project.<br />

C. During construction, coordinate use of site and facilities through the Wal-Mart Construction Manager.<br />

D. Comply with Wal-Mart Construction Manager's procedures for project communications, reports and records, and<br />

coordination with drawings, and comply with recommendations and resolution of ambiguities and conflicts.<br />

E. Comply with instructions of the Wal-Mart Construction Manager for use of temporary utilities and construction<br />

facilities.<br />

F. Coordinate use of site during Wal-Mart fixture setup work under instructions of the Wal-Mart Construction<br />

Manager.<br />

1.4 COORDINATION BETWEEN DIFFERENT CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTS<br />
