D. As equipment is received, Refrigeration Contractor shall verify Wal-Mart Purchase Order Receipts and forward to
the Contractor for Wal-Mart processing.
E. Contractor shall notify Wal-Mart of equipment received from carrier in damaged condition and shortages.
Damages will be noted on bill of lading. Contractor shall be responsible for failure to note freight damage and
shortages at time of receipt of equipment.
1.17 SPECIFICATIONS FOR REFRIGERATION INSTALLATION
A. Contractor Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate release of Owner and Wal-Mart furnished equipment with Wal-Mart Mechanical Services
Department. The Wal-Mart Mechanical Services Construction Manager is the sole person who can change
delivery dates.
2. Provide crane service to hoist refrigeration equipment directly from truck to mounting position.
3. Provide structural support for refrigeration equipment.
4. Provide opening through outside building wall and provide weather hood.
B. Refrigeration Contractor Responsibilities:
1. Tubing, fittings, insulation for refrigerant lines, unistrut, fasteners, bolts, hangers, etc.
2. Install all refrigeration equipment scheduled or shown on Drawings and described in this Section.
3. Provide labor to unload and set refrigeration equipment scheduled or shown on Drawings and described in
this Section.
4. Make final electrical connections to Owner and Wal-Mart furnished equipment.
5. Provide associated electrical wiring except terminations and slave wires.
6. Install Owner furnished refrigeration controls and sensors.
7. Provide attachment of refrigeration equipment.
1.18 DRAWINGS
A. Provide as built piping drawings, after job completion, in 18- by 24-inch glass frame. Install on compressor room
interior.
1.19 REQUEST FOR INFORMATION SUBMITTAL
A. All Request for Information (RFIs) regarding Refrigeration shall follow the attached copy of the Request for
Information Process Flow Chart.
B. Refer to Specification Section 01255 for RFI Information Submittal Process.
PART 2 PRODUCTS
2.1 OWNER FURNISHED PRODUCTS
A. Refrigerated Cases and Refrigeration Equipment Furnished by Wal-Mart for Installation by Contractor:
Refrigerated cases and refrigeration equipment scheduled or shown on Drawings and described in this Section will
be furnished by Wal-Mart for installation by Refrigeration Contractor.
B. Work Furnished and Installed Under Separate Contracts (NIC):
1. Wal-Mart’s Freezer/Cooler Supplier will perform the following:
a. Delivery and handling of freezer/cooler panels and associated doors and equipment as specified
above.
b. Unloading, uncrating, setting and assembly of walk-in coolers and freezers, and associated doors and
equipment .
