2.4 EQUIPMENT<br />

A. Scrubber Machines Equipment used for cleaning operations shall be Clark Encore Max38 or L38 with a head<br />

pressure of 150 lbs. or similar equipment as required to produce the specified results.<br />

B. Burnishing Machine: High speed propane burnisher, with a min. 27 inch head generating pad speeds of 1,500<br />

RPM or higher as verified with tachometer.<br />

PART 3 - EXECUTION<br />

3.1 GENERAL CLEANING AND BURNISHING REQUIREMENTS<br />

A. Coordinate with joint filling operations. Do not perform wet cleaning within 72 hrs prior to joint filling.<br />

B. Do not use stain or scuff removing agents such as “crete-strip”.<br />

C. Clean floors as specified hereinafter prior to application of densifier.<br />

D. Burnish floors as specified hereinafter after application of protective treatment.<br />

E. Utilize riding machines to the maximum extent practical to achieve optimum efficiency.<br />

F. Final finish sheen shall be equivalent to that as accepted on the Floor Test Slab as specified in Section 03312 and<br />

as specified hereinafter.<br />

3.2 CLEANING<br />

A. Use sweeping compound to control airborne dust. Scrape floor to remove remaining saw cut residue and paint<br />

droppings. Remove paint droppings with soft, damp cloth and solvent stripper. Do not use stripper with an<br />

acidic pH.<br />

B. Treat oil spots with oil emulsifier and oil absorber materials.<br />

C. Double scrub floor with automatic scrubber with appropriate brushes or pads and pH compatible detergent.<br />

3.3 DENSIFIER APPLICATION<br />

A. Area to be Treated: Apply densifier and protective treatment finish to all new interior concrete floor slabs placed<br />

under Section 03312 where shown on Drawings to receive burnishing.<br />

1. Do not apply densifier and protective treatment to new interior concrete floor slabs scheduled to receive<br />

other final floor finish material.]<br />

B. Area to be Treated: Apply densifier and protective treatment finish to new interior Sales area concrete slab placed<br />

under Section 03312 as shown on Drawings.<br />

C. Examination and Preparation:<br />

1. Examine surfaces receiving densifier. Verify that surfaces conform to product manufacturer's requirements<br />

for substrate conditions.<br />

2. Vacuum and clean saw cut joints and surrounding area so that no dust remains to react with concrete finish<br />

material.<br />

3. Remove remnant of temporary film forming curing compound prior to application of densifier. Remove<br />

compound by cleaning and scrubbing in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.<br />

4. Prior to application, scrub floor with pre-densifier floor cleaner to remove latent salts. Do not proceed until<br />

unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected.<br />
