A. Concrete lithium based chemical densifier specifically for concrete surface treatment which reacts chemically to<br />

the concrete surface forming a clear, dense, durable, hard, abrasion-resistant surface. Product shall be a colorless,<br />

odorless, water-based solution that is less than 50 VOC.<br />

B. Penetrating Lithium Silicate Densifier Material:<br />

1. Pentra-Sil (NL-H) by Convergent Concrete Technologies<br />

2. Consolideck LS/CS by Prosoco<br />

3. SS Harden X by Seal Source Inc.<br />

C. Sprayer: Manufacturer approved high volume, low pressure sprayer and sprayer tip.<br />

2.6 PROTECTIVE SURFACE TREATMENT (STAIN GUARD)<br />

A. Protective Surface Treatment (Stain Guard): Low VOC, penetrating aqueous, lithium silicate solution. Provide<br />

one of the following.<br />

1. Pentra-Guard (HP) by Convergent Concrete Technologies.<br />

2. Consolideck LS Guard by Prosoco.<br />

3. SS Duraguard by Seal Source.<br />

B. Lithium Stain Guard Application Material:<br />

1. Manufacturer approved sprayer and sprayer tip for application of lithium stain guard.<br />

2. Manufacturer approved pads for application of lithium stain guard.<br />

a. Professional Mighty Mop 077 by Quickie.<br />

b. 24” Microfiber Wet Room Pad by Rubbermaid.<br />

c. Other pads as approved by manufacturer of protective surface treatment.<br />

C. Sprayer: Manufacturer approved high volume, low pressure sprayer and sprayer tip.<br />

PART 3 - EXECUTION<br />

3.1 SLAB SURFACE PREPARATION<br />

A. Initial Preparation:<br />

1. Rope off area to be stripped and put out “Caution Wet Floor” signs.<br />

2. Pick up trash. Remove loose dirt and debris using a microfiber dust mop. Use putty knife or scraper to<br />

mechanically remove gum, labels, etc.<br />

3. Use proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when applying cleaners.<br />

B. High pH Cleaner Application:<br />

1. Initial Cleaning: Twenty-four (24) hours prior to the overall cleaning of an individual work area, apply high<br />

pH cleaner per manufacturer’s published instructions and recommendations to high traffic areas identified<br />

on the drawings, if applicable. Scrub and rinse thoroughly with clean water and vacuum up with auto<br />

scrubber.<br />

2. Overall Cleaning: After initial cleaning of an individual work area, apply high pH cleaner per manufacturer’s<br />

published instructions and recommendations to slab, including high traffic areas treated in the initial<br />

cleaning, if applicable. Scrub and rinse thoroughly with clean water and vacuum up with auto scrubber.<br />

3. Dispose of waste solution through an approved drain, as designated by the Wal-Mart Construction Manager.<br />

3.2 EXAMINATION<br />

A. Examine concrete slab in the presence of the certified joint filler/repair applicator, identifying all slab defects, including<br />

required joint filler repair/replacement. Correct conditions detrimental to timely and proper work. Refer to<br />

section 03905.<br />
