AS/400 APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT
AND OPERATIONS
Program of Studies Leading to the A.A.S. Degree
The AS/400 Application Development and Operations curriculum is concerned with the
foundation of the system development life cycle to business industry and the AS/400. The
topics involve the study of systems analysis, systems design, operations, facilities, and computer
programming, along with other technical and business study areas pertinent to the
development and implementation of the AS/400 in a variety of operational and administrative
settings.
This program is the result of a partnership between Luzerne County Community College,
IBM and Business Industry. Its goal is to educate students who, at the end of two years, will
be ready to enter the workforce as an entry-level programmer.
NOTE: Those students who are planning to transfer to a four-year college should follow
the curriculum for the A.S. degree in Computer Information Systems.
