COMPUTER INFORMATION SYSTEMS
Program of Studies Leading to the A.S. Degree
The Computer Information Systems (CIS) curriculum provides students with the opportunity
to complete many of the core courses normally required for the four-year professional
degree. It is designed for students planning to transfer to a four-year degree program in Computer
Information Systems Technology. It is primarily concerned with the foundation of the
system development life cycle to business-oriented and computer-based information systems.
The topics involve the study of systems analysis, systems design, database management, and
computer programming, along with other technical and business study areas pertinent to the
development and implementation of information systems in a variety of operational and administrative
settings. The courses, as recommended below, must be followed.
