PLUMBING, HEATING AND<br />

AIR CONDITIONING TECHNOLOGY<br />

Program of Studies Leading to the A.A.S. Degree<br />

This program provides journeyperson-level training in the plumbing, heating and air<br />

conditioning trades. Instruction is provided in both theoretical and practical aspects of<br />

plumbing, heating and air conditioning, residential and light-commercial maintenance,<br />

various types of plumbing, heating and air conditioning repairs/installation, heat loss and<br />

cooling load calculations, heating and cooling system design and state-of-the-art efficiency<br />

equipment. Included in this curriculum is an intenship co-op program that places students<br />

with local contractors, to gain work experience.<br />

Graduates of the program may gain employment as journeyperson-level tradesperson,<br />

industrial maintenance, sales representative, estimator for a plumbing, heating and air conditioning<br />

systems designer and control trouble-shooting technician.<br />

This program would also allow the graduate to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree at a<br />

four-year institution in a Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Technology (HVAC)<br />

program.<br />
