Tuesday-Thursday classes will be 55 minutes in length with 10 minute breaks in<br />

accordance with the following:<br />

8 a.m. to 9:20 a.m. 10:00 a.m. to 10:55 a.m.<br />

or earlier<br />

9:30 to 10:50 11:05 to 12:00<br />

11:00 to 12:20 12:10 p.m. to 1:05<br />

12:30 to 1:50 1:15 to 2:10<br />

2:00 to 3:20 2:20 to 3:15<br />

3:30 to 4:50 3:25 to 4:20<br />

5:00 to 6:20 Resume normal schedule<br />

Classes starting at 5 o’clock or later will resume the normal schedule.<br />

Unique time classes: on Monday, Wednesday, Friday will meet 45 minutes compressed<br />

for each 55 minutes on the regular schedule. On Tuesday - Thursday compressed<br />

classes will meet 55 minutes for each 80 minutes regularly scheduled.<br />

Classes with unique starting times: instructors will use the above formula to<br />

calculate the starting time and announce this in class at the first opportunity during<br />

the semester.<br />

STUDENT AND SOCIAL REGULATIONS<br />

<strong>Luzerne</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>Community</strong> College students are expected to conduct themselves<br />

as mature adults, both on and off campus. Every student is responsible for<br />

the good name of the College as the entire community may judge the College by<br />

the actions of individual students. All students are urged to provide a favorable<br />

example in establishing the finest possible reputation for <strong>Luzerne</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>Community</strong><br />

College.<br />

Mutual consideration among students should be practiced, including: (1) those<br />

attending College functions will conduct themselves in a socially acceptable manner;<br />

(2) fellow students will act in a manner befitting each situation; (3) there will<br />

be proper protection and consideration of personal property and the property and<br />

facilities of the College; (4) all students will use socially acceptable language; (5)<br />

students will preserve the high quality of academic conduct which will characterize<br />

the scholastic group with which they will be identified and judged.<br />

Pennsylvania State Law prohibits the sale of intoxicating beverages to persons<br />

under 21. It is the responsibility of each student who is a minor to abstain from<br />

indulging in intoxicating beverages.<br />

Each student is to conduct himself or herself socially in accordance with his/her<br />

responsibility to uphold the ideals, standards and regulations of <strong>Luzerne</strong> <strong>County</strong><br />

<strong>Community</strong> College. The College reserves the right to place on probation, suspend<br />

and/or dismiss any student who conducts himself or herself in a manner incompatible<br />

with the objectives of the College.<br />

Information on college policies of the administration of the Privacy Act, Code of<br />

Conduct and Grievance Procedures are available in the 2003-<strong>2004</strong> Student Handbook.<br />
