The Dental Hygiene and the Dental Assisting Programs are accredited by the<br />

American Dental Association: Commission on Dental Accreditation, 211 East Chicago<br />

Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611, (312) 440-4653. This is a specialized accrediting<br />

agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.<br />

The Emergency Medical Services Program is accredited by the Pennsylvania<br />

Department of Health, Division of EMS Services, PO Box 90, Harrisburg, PA 17108-<br />

0090, (717) 787-8740.<br />

The Child Development Program received the National Early Childhood Associate<br />

Degree Approval from the National Association for the Education of Young<br />

Children in 2002. It is one of two programs in the country to be approved to date.<br />

All curricula are approved for the training of veterans in accordance with Federal<br />

Laws governing veteran’s education benefits.<br />

The College is authorized under Federal Law to enroll non-immigrant alien students.<br />

Statement of Nondiscrimination<br />

Personnel at <strong>Luzerne</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>Community</strong> College have a moral and legal obligation<br />

to provide equal access and equal opportunity to all members of the community.<br />

The administration will ensure that this moral and legal commitment is<br />

fully implemented through compliance with relevant federal laws, state statutes,<br />

and municipal ordinances prohibiting discrimination.<br />

The institution will implement procedures and measures designed to ensure<br />

that students, applicants and employees are not discriminated against on the basis<br />

of race, color, sex, sexual orientation, disability, age, veteran status, national origin,<br />

religion, marital status, political affiliation, ancestry, union membership, use of a<br />

guide or support animal because of blindness, deafness, or physical handicap of<br />

any individual, or any other protected classification in the administration of its<br />

educational programs, activities, admission or employment practices. Any acts of<br />

reprisal, retaliation or harassment taken against an individual because he/she has<br />

filed a discrimination complaint, testified about matters related to a complaint, or<br />

otherwise assisted a complaint inquiry are forbidden and may result in severe disciplinary<br />

Complaint Procedure<br />

<strong>Luzerne</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>Community</strong> College has an internal procedure providing for<br />

prompt and equitable resolution of discrimination complaints. This policy applies<br />

to any full or part-time administrative, faculty, or classifed staff member or student<br />

and, for the purposes of this policy, any member of the board of trustees.<br />
