JAMES M. WACHTLER ENDOWMENT SCHOLARSHIP<br />

GPA Required: 3.5 or higher<br />

James M. Wachtler, a former LCCC Trustee, established this scholarship in 1978.<br />

Applicant must have academic potential as measured by the composite score from<br />

the college assessment test and high school record. Preference is given to applicants<br />

with unmet financial need.<br />

ALBERT WASLEY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP<br />

G.P.A. Required: 3.5 or higher<br />

Established in 2002 by the LCCC Board of Trustees in memory of Mr. Albert Wasley,<br />

former College Trustee. Applicant must be a graduate of a <strong>Luzerne</strong> <strong>County</strong> high<br />

school and demonstrate outstanding high school or college academic achievement<br />

and good character.<br />

II. CURRICULUM<br />

Automotive Technology/Motorsports Technology Scholarships<br />

JOSEPH AMATO SCHOLARSHIP<br />

Given annually by the JA Foundation. Applicant must be currently involved in<br />

the Motorsports field and have at least 24 credits earned at the time of award.<br />

This award is not based on financial need.<br />

AACA – ANTIQUE AUTOMOBILE CLUB OF AMERICA<br />

Established in 2000 by the members of the regional chapter of the AACA to benefit<br />

a student in LCCC’s Automotive Program. Applicant must have completed<br />

15 credits in the Automotive Technology curriculum and be in good academic<br />

standing.<br />

THE DANIEL W. BEYNON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP<br />

Established in 2000 by Sandra Beynon Nicholas, Executive Director, LCCC Foundation.<br />

Applicant must have unmet financial need. First preference will be given<br />

to a student enrolled in the Automotive curriculum.<br />

MICHAEL J. CEFALO, ESQ. SCHOLARSHIP<br />

G.P.A. Required: 2.5 or higher<br />

Given annually by Attorney Michael J. Cefalo, West Pittston. Applicant must be<br />

in his or her second year of LCCC’s Motorsports program, actively involved in<br />

Motorsports and have 30 credits earned at the time of award.<br />

GENERAL MOTORS TRAINING COUNCIL SCHOLARSHIP<br />

G.P.A. Required: 2.0 or higher<br />

Established in 1993 by the Northeast Region General Motors Dealers Training<br />

Council. Applicant must be a second year, part-time student of the Automotive<br />

Technology program.<br />

GENERAL MOTORS TRAINING COUNCIL SCHOLARSHIP<br />

(Full-time incoming freshman)<br />

Established in 1993 by the Northeast Region General Motors Dealers Training<br />

Council. To be awarded to a high school senior who will be attending LCCC on a<br />

full-time basis and enrolled in the Automotive Technology curriculum. (Applicant<br />

should apply in the spring semester of their senior year of high school for<br />

award in the fall).<br />

MOROSO PERFORMANCE SCHOLARSHIP<br />

G.P.A. Required: 2.75 or higher<br />

This award was established in 2000 by Moroso Performance Products, one of the<br />

word’s most respected suppliers of automotive equipment for racing and street<br />

performance applications. Recipient must be a second year student in the<br />

Motorsports Technology Program.<br />
