DAS 101-Chairside Dental Assisting I 2 Lect., 2 Lab., 3 Sem.-Hrs.<br />
This course provides an introduction to the knowledge, skills and responsibilities<br />
of the dental assistant. Topics include dental terminology, microbiology of disease<br />
transmission, infection control, occupational hazards, dental instruments and<br />
equipment, instrument transfer, oral evacuation and patient assessment. The student<br />
will practice skills in a supervised clinical laboratory setting.<br />

This course provides a study of the normal anatomy of the oral cavity, teeth,<br />

and mounting, radiographic findings and patient management. The student<br />

supplies and inventory and business records.<br />
