If other students are on campus, they will be advised by the Vice President for<br />

Student Development and staff and the Security Department regarding the procedures<br />

that should be followed.<br />

VIII. Evacuation<br />

Only the Governor of the Commonwealth can order and compel a mass evacuation<br />

of the population. If such an evacuation is ordered, notice of the order will be<br />

sent to the College by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency through<br />

the <strong>County</strong> Emergency Management Coordinator.<br />

The President of the College or his/her designee will make the decision to evacuate<br />

the College if notice of danger is eminent.<br />

Should evacuation of the college population be necessary, all college personnel<br />

should refrain from trying to exit through the city of Nanticoke due to the possible<br />

traffic congestion.<br />

It is recommended that the Prospect and Kosciuszko Street exits leading to Middle<br />

Road be used. Turn left on Middle Road and tune your radio to an emergency<br />

broadcast system for official instructions or information.<br />

If evacuation of the campus is to take place, in order to prevent congestion, the<br />

following order of dismissal will be adhered to:<br />

Buildings 4, 8, 14, and 10 will be dismissed first<br />

Buildings 2, 3, 6 and 12 will be second<br />

Buildings 1, 5, 7, 9, and 11 will be third<br />

IX. Plan Review and Revision Procedures<br />

A copy of this plan will be made available to all College supervisory personnel,<br />

the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and the <strong>Luzerne</strong> <strong>County</strong> Emergency<br />

Agency Coordinator.<br />

It will be the responsibility of all supervisory personnel to review and discuss<br />

this plan with departmental personnel annually between the period of August 1<br />

and September 30, and a report will be submitted to the President of the College<br />

stating that an annual briefing has been conducted.<br />

It will be the responsibility of the President of the College to review and discuss<br />

the plan with senior management personnel to determine the need for any revisions.<br />

COMPRESSED SCHEDULE<br />

The following schedule will be in effect when announced during inclement<br />

weather.<br />

Monday-Wednesday-Friday classes will be 45 minutes in length with 10 minute<br />

breaks in accordance with the following:<br />

Regular Class Time Compressed Class Time<br />

8 a.m. to 8:55 a.m. 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.<br />

9:05 to 10:00 10:55 to 11:40<br />

10:10 to 11:05 11:50 to 12:35 p.m.<br />

11:15 to 12:10 p.m. 12:45 to 1:30<br />

12:20 to 1:15 1:40 to 2:25<br />

1:25 to 2:20 2:35 to 3:20<br />

2:30 to 3:20 3:30 to 4:15<br />

3:35 to 4:30 4:25 to 5:10<br />

Classes starting after 3:35 but before 5:00 will meet from 4:25 - 5:10. Evening<br />

classes normally starting at or after 5:00 p.m. meet on their regular schedule.<br />
