ALBERT P. NICHOLAS MEMORIAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP<br />

Established in 2003 by Sandra A. Nicholas, Executive Director LCCC Foundation,<br />

Inc., family and friends in memory of Mr. Albert P. Nicholas. Applicant must be<br />

enrolled in a degree-bearing program and have unmet financial need.<br />

PAUL J. RUSHIN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP<br />

Established in 2003 by Mary Jo Rushin, in memory of her husband Paul. Applicant<br />

must be a resident of <strong>Luzerne</strong> <strong>County</strong> and have unmet financial need.<br />

IV. RESIDENCY / LOCATION<br />

JAMES A. BRENNAN MEMORIAL/KINGSTON ROTARY ENDOWMENT<br />

SCHOLARSHIP<br />

Applicant must be a graduate of the Wyoming Valley West School District and demonstrate<br />

outstanding academic achievement and involvement in the community.<br />

<strong>COLLEGE</strong> MISERICORDIA SCHOLARSHIP<br />

Applicant must be entering their senior year at LCCC and has committed to enrolling<br />

at College Misericordia following graduation.<br />

GETHA & ISADORE EDELSTEIN SCHOLARSHIP<br />

Established and endowed in 2003 through a trust donation from the Getha &<br />

Isadore Edelstein estate. Applicant must be a graduate of the Greater Hazleton<br />

Area School District and be in good academic standing.<br />

JOHN LOMBARDO SCHOLARSHIP<br />

This scholarship was established in memory of the late John Lombardo by his<br />

friends and family. John was a Pittston Area volunteer fireman who perished in<br />

the line of duty. Preference will be given to a resident of the Greater Pittston Area<br />

enrolled in Engineering Technology, Emergency Medical Services Technology, Fire<br />

Safety Technology, Hotel and Restaurant Management and/or Science. Consideration<br />

is also given to volunteer activities, employment status or extenuating<br />

personal circumstances.<br />

LUZERNE NATIONAL BANK/JONATHAN STEINRUCK MEMORIAL<br />

SCHOLARSHIP<br />

Established in 1998 by <strong>Luzerne</strong> National Bank in memory of Jonathan Steinruck,<br />

a West Side Area student. Applicant must be a graduate of the West Side Area<br />

School District and show academic potential and community involvement.<br />

NEWPORT TOWNSHIP WOMEN’S ACTIVITY GROUP<br />

Established in 1999 by the NTWAG this scholarship is presented annually to a<br />

student from the Greater Nanticoke Area who demonstrates involvement in community<br />

activities.<br />

PLAINS LIONS CLUB SCHOLARSHIP<br />

Applicant must be a resident of Plains Borough and enrolled in at least 12 credits<br />

at LCCC. Preference will be given to a student with unmet financial need.<br />

RONNIE WITT ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP<br />

Established in 1998 by Ronnie Witt, former director of the College Bookstore, in<br />

honor of her 30 th year of employment at LCCC. Applicant must be a full-time<br />

student enrolled in at least 12 credits. Applicant must demonstrate academic<br />

potential and reside in Plains Borough.<br />

V. PART-TIME<br />

DR. RICHARD ALLEY SCHOLARSHIP<br />

Established in 1996 by Dr. Richard A. Alley, LCCC Trustee. Applicant must demonstrate<br />

humanitarianism, academic achievement, and have unmet financial need.<br />

To be eligible, applicants must have earned 12 - 40 credits, be enrolled in at least<br />

six credits per semester and have a commitment to volunteerism.<br />
