BUS 164-Advanced Purchasing 3 Sem.-Hrs.<br />

Basic managerial techniques and decision-making. Purchasing procedures and<br />

systems relative to material management through utilization of detailed case<br />

studies.<br />

Prerequisite: BUS 161.<br />

BUS 165-Logistics 3 Sem.-Hrs.<br />

A review of business logistics concerned with the physical movement and storage<br />

of goods. Special emphasis will be given to the managerial responsibilities of<br />

transportation, inventory, warehousing, packaging, materials handling and customer<br />

service. Recognition is also given to the important relationships between<br />

logistics and production, marketing, and financial management.<br />

BUS 167-Introduction to Materials Management 3 Sem.-Hrs.<br />

Materials management means different things to different people. In this introductory<br />

course, materials management includes all activities in the flow of<br />

materials from the supplier through to the consumer. Such activities include physical<br />

supply, operations planning, control and physical distribution. Other terms<br />

related to materials management are logistics, traffic, and supply chain management.<br />

Our emphasis in this course is the transportation and distribution systems<br />

to control materials management.<br />

BUS 172-Labor Relations 3 Sem.-Hrs.<br />

History of the labor movement; structure and operations of labor organizations;<br />

collective bargaining, contract negotiations and the labor agreement; handling<br />

grievances; the role of government in labor relations; and current issues<br />

and labor problems.<br />

BUS 181-Introduction to International Business 3 Sem.-Hrs.<br />

The fundamentals of international business. Topics range from international<br />

organizations through the uncontrollable forces influencing the management of<br />

international business. The tools of management and strategies designed to increase<br />

the knowledge of the new global markets are examined in detail. World finance,<br />

accounting, logistics are placed in proper perspective. Same course as INB 101;<br />

duplicate credit not possible.<br />

BUS 182-International Marketing 3 Sem.-Hrs.<br />

An introduction to international marketing with special emphasis on international<br />

competition. The current distribution system including pricing and credit<br />

policies, promotional methods including advertising are examined. Trade barriers,<br />

trade agreements and the political, legal, cultural, ethical strategies are offered in<br />

detail. Same course as INB 102; duplicate credit not possible.<br />

BUS 183-International Logistics 3 Sem.-Hrs.<br />

The study of transportation in international business is examined to inform the<br />

student of the necessary legal and mechanical aspect of global marketplace. Various<br />

forms and necessary paperwork required to accommodate the proper government<br />

systems are studied. Same course as INB 103; duplicate credit not possible.<br />

BUS 184-Comparative International Political and Culture 3 Sem.-Hrs.<br />

A study of the international political and culture of the major marketing areas of<br />

the world is presented not only to the student of international business but also to<br />

non-majors to acquaint them with the challenges of the global market. The culture<br />

of various countries is examined and compared to other environments. Same course<br />

as INB 104; duplicate credit not possible.<br />
