Antibiotics and aerobics/anerobics<br />

A. Antibiotics with anti-anaerobic activity<br />

1. Penicillins.<br />

2. Cephalosporins (except ceftazidime).<br />

3. Erythromycin.<br />

4. Metronidazole.<br />

5. Clindamycin.<br />

6. Tetracycline.<br />

B. Antibiotics with NO anti-anaerobic activity<br />

1. Gentamicin.<br />

2. Ciprofloxacin.<br />

3. Ceftazidime.<br />

Incubation Periods: Questions may either ask directly about incubation periods<br />

or they may be used to provide a clue in a differential diagnosis<br />

‏)صادم(‏ A. Less than 1 week<br />

1. Scarlet fever.<br />

2. Influenza.<br />

3. Diphtheria.<br />

4. Meningococcus.<br />

B. 1 - 2 weeks ( 2M & مامى 2 fevers) :<br />

1. Malaria.<br />

2. Measles.<br />

3. Dengue fever.<br />

4. Typhoid fever.<br />

C. 2 - 3 weeks ( 3 = Mrch )<br />

1. Mumps.<br />

2. Rubella.<br />

3. Chickenpox<br />

1. Infectious mononucleosis (EBV).<br />

2. Cytomegalovirus (CMV).<br />

3. Viral hepatitis.<br />

Vaccination: It is important to be aware of vaccines which are of the liveattenuated<br />

type as these may pose a risk to immunocompromised patient.<br />

A. Live attenuated vaccines :<br />
