Invasive (=angio-invasive) pulmonary aspergillosis (IPA) :
- It`s a rapidly progressive,often fatal aspergillus infection that occurs in severely
immunocompromized patients e.g under immunosuppressive drugs (transplant
patients), AIDS & chronic granulomatous disease e,g TB.
- This infectious process is characterized by invasion of the blood vessels ,resulting in
multifocal infiltrates ,which is often wedge-shaped, pleural-based & cavitary.
- Dissemination to other organs may occur particularly CNS.
• Management : Itraconazole (poor response to TTT).
- Any lung diseases related to occupation
- Include :
Occupational lung dieases
Pneumoconiosis : occupational lung diseases caused by inhalation of a variety
of industrial dusts.
Extrinsic allergic alveolitis (bird fancier`s lung ,farmer`s lung ,malt workers`
lung , mushroom wrker`s lung)
