Posterior inferior cerebellar artery<br />

Basilar artery<br />

1. Pons including :<br />

- Part of vestibular nucleus<br />

- Motor tracts passing in it<br />

- Abducens nerve nucleus<br />

- Facial n. nucleus<br />

o Nausea,vertigo,headache & vomiting.<br />

o Contralateral hemiparesis.<br />

o Cr 6 palsy : diplopia, conjugate gaze palsy<br />

o Cr7 palsy of LMN type.<br />

o Locked-In Syndrome: patient is awake but is<br />

unable to respond in anyway except by<br />

vertical gaze and blinking (lesion is in ventral<br />

pons) TTT is control of HTN<br />

1. Lateral medulla including<br />

- Cr9,10,11<br />

- Sensory spinal nucleus of Cr5<br />

- Sympathetic fibers to eye<br />

- Spinal leminiscus carrying<br />

pain &temp from opp. Side<br />

2. Inferior part of cerebellum<br />

o Wallenberge syndrome :<br />

A. Brainstem features<br />

- Ipsilateral dysphagia & other bulbar S.<br />

- Ipsilateral facial numbness<br />

- Ipsilateral horner`s syndrome<br />

- Cotralateral sensory loss (Pain&Tem).<br />

B. Cerebellar features<br />

- Ataxia .<br />

- Nystagmus .<br />
