C. Cerebellum :
o It lies behind the brain stem & occupies most of posterior cranial fossa.
o It`s composed of 2 cerebellar hemispheres connected in the middle by central
portion called “vermis”.
o It`s concerned with coordination of voluntary motor activity & maintenance of
equilibrium.
Anatomy of spinal cord
- It lies in the spinal canal & ends at the lower border of L1 vertebra.
- It`s formed of grey matter (cells) surrounded by white matter.
- In a transverse section , the grey matter is H-shaped (2 anterior, 2 posterior horns &2
lateral).
- 31 pairs of spinal nerves are attached to the spinal cord (8 cervical,12 th ,5L , 5S , 1
cox),each spinal nerve is attached to spinal cord by 2 roots (anterior”motor” &
posterior”sensory”).
