3. If residual MAX-GUARD is present, a precipitate will be observed. A strong
precipitate will indicate at least 1 lb/bbl excess.
4. A standard solution of MAX-GUARD in water (at 1 or 2 lb/bbl) could be prepared
and tested accordingly. This can give a visual indication of what to expect for the
amount of precipitation and compare to the test filtrate results.
