The process consists of six clearly defined steps. Each one is described below including the forms that<br />

need to be filled out.<br />

This FES Process map has been developed to aid the optimization and planning of the drilling fluid life<br />

cycle. It is a systematic approach designed to ensure that all of the issues mentioned are addressed and<br />

that the deployment will be carried out with a high level of competence and service.<br />

Step One – Determining Expectations<br />

The first step in the process is determining the expectations, or needs, of the project, or well, in order<br />

to plan for a successful job. When every member of a team is aware of firm, clear expectations from<br />
