Step Three – Setting Goals
Goals for the project or well are then set using the benchmarks and risks determined in the previous
step. Goal management includes:
a) Defining what is needed to attain the goal.
b) What is the end result of the goal?
c) How will the goal be tracked?
d) Who is responsible for the goal?
When goals are agreed upon between team members, they are discussed with all personnel involved
in the project. This enables all members to be aware and focus on the tasks before them.
Furthermore, those goals have to be in alignment with the expectations for the project in order for
them to have an impact on the overall performance of the operation.
