accelerator is available for cold water applications. X-LINK pills can be used in water, syntheticor
oil-base drilling fluids.
In the event an X-LINK pill is mixed but not pumped, it can be bled back into the active mud
system. If no accelerator is used, there is no danger from gelation in the tank provided retarder
was used in the formula. If an accelerator was used, the pill can be diluted with water to a 1%
solution to eliminate cross-linking.
Once the X-LINK pill sets, it is easily drilled or reamed and can be removed from the mud
system over conventional shale shakers.
