For the past several decades, at least, the hierarchy of a hospital organization has

been well entrenched, although some of the names for certain offices within the

facility have changed over the years, and a variety of differences exist between

facilities. A worker’s or professional’s position within the framework of the organization

usually depends on the level of education and responsibility given to the

individual in the health care facility. The chief executive officer (CEO), who is

often known as the health care administrator, is the highest ranking official of
