Urinalysis
Completely automated urinalysis can be performed by an
instrument such as the Yellow IRIS or any of a range of
instruments (Figure 12-2). Manual urinalysis requires
several pieces of equipment. Specific gravity levels are
performed by three basic methods, which, though similar, each use
a different methodology with dissimilar results (Figures 12-3, 12-4,
and 12-5). Another method is a screening method by a chemical
reaction on a dipstick containing chemical pads where the reaction
occurs.
