certified clinical laboratory technician and the use
of the titles “clinical laboratory technologist” or
“certified clinical laboratory technician” in New York
State require licensure, unless otherwise exempt under
the law. Certain educational requirements must be
met in order to achieve this licensure, as specified. A
professional license is the authorization to practice
and use a professional title in New York State and
is valid for life unless it is revoked, annulled, or
suspended by the Board of Regents. Reregistration is
required every three years.
