Article 4.A.6
Adds clarification that the insignia worn on the ODU must be a permanently
earned insignia. “A single embroidered insignia that the member has
permanently earned may be worn on the ODU, sewn on and centered
directly above the “U. S. COAST GUARD” tape.”
Adds the requirement that documentation be submitted to PSC (PSD-mu)
verifying the mandatory wearing of a badge not listed in 3.E.3 prior to the
wearing of said badge. “The member(s) directed to wear a badge not
listed must supply PSC (PSD-mu) with a copy of the
instruction/regulation governing the requirement to wear the badge, the
manner of wear, and a letter/memo listing the member(s) authorized to
wear it from the hosting command/organization prior to wearing the
badge.”
Updates the pictures of the CMC badges and clarifies them:
Additional clarification is added for the ODU: “Only embroidered
permanent insignias, command devices, incumbent Command Chiefs,
and RFMC badges are authorized on the ODU.” “Only the pocket length
tape with full size embroidered insignia should be sewn centered
immediately above the U. S. Coast Guard tape.”
Adds additional wording for clarification when medals extend past the lapel.
“Backing shall be affixed through the lapel and jacket.”
Removes the reference to page numbers and adds in the appropriate section.
“3.E.4”.
Removes the Company Commander insignia from the badge section.
Clarifies the wearing of stars when multiple colors are worn: “With two
stars, one silver and one gold or bronze, the silver star will be placed to
the wearer's right, the gold or bronze star to the left. With three stars,
one silver and two gold or bronze the silver star will be placed inbetween
the two gold or bronze stars on the medal or ribbon:"
Adds in additional info on when ODUs can be worn: “ODUs are allowed
for wear while traveling on TDY (on commercial -air, bus, train, etc)
with standard ball cap.”
