4.D.7 Hot Weather<br />
During periods of Hot Weather commands are authorized to allow the removal of<br />
the UDO blouse for heat relief. The standard CG blue T-shirt as listed in 3.C.2 of<br />
this manual will be worn and tucked in at all times. Unit T-shirts are NOT<br />
authorized at any time with the CG uniform.<br />
4.D.8. Cold Weather<br />
Commanding officers may issue additional cold weather clothing when necessary to<br />
ensure crew safety and comfort. Cold weather clothing includes, but is not limited to,<br />
parkas, Mustang suits, polypropylene underwear, gloves/mittens, and the Government<br />
Issue G-1 leather flight jacket. The G-1 leather jacket is limited to use by aviation<br />
personnel in approved flight status and currently on Flight duty at the discretion of air<br />
station commanding officers.<br />
Cold weather clothing may be worn with <strong>Coast</strong> <strong>Guard</strong> uniforms for commuting to and<br />
from work unless deemed inappropriate by the local command.<br />
4.D.9. Judicial Robes<br />
Personnel certified as judges in accordance with 26B, Uniform Code of Military Justice<br />
and designated by the General Counsel of the Department of Homeland Security as a<br />
judge may wear the judicial robe. The robe will be worn only when performing the<br />
duties as a trial or appellate judge, or in conjunction with courts martial, Court of Military<br />
Review, or ceremonial duties. An allowance for judicial robes is authorized to be<br />
established by the Chief Counsel, Commandant (CG-094), all district commanders, and<br />
other units with military judges attached. The robe will be fitted individually to the<br />
military judge. Identification will consist of the name and grade of the judge to whom<br />
issued and the words “Military Judge, USCG” placed on the identification tag provided<br />
within the robe.<br />
