The width of the boot should feel firm with little to no excess space between the boot and
the foot.
6.F.2.o. Length
To check toe clearance, depress the front of the shoe/boot with the thumb: There should be at
least ½ inch of clearance between the longest toe and the end of the shoe/boot. The toe clearance
should also be checked with the individual in the "full knee bend" position. The toe clearance in
this position should remain ½ inch.
