3.K.1. WEDDING ATTIRE<br />

Groom and Best Man. May wear Formal Dress, Dinner Dress, Full Dress, Service Dress<br />

uniforms or civilian attire.<br />

Bride and Maid-of-Honor. May wear Formal Dress, Dinner Dress, Full Dress, Service<br />

Dress Uniforms, or civilian attire.<br />

Ushers, Bridesmaids and Immediate Family. All uniformed participants should wear the<br />

same uniform, but may be different from those worn by the Bride, Groom, Maid-of-<br />

Honor, and Best Man.<br />

Guests. Wear appropriate Service Dress uniforms.<br />

3.K.2 SWORDS AT WEDDINGS<br />

Swords are not usually carried into a house of worship, but the sword belt without<br />

scabbard may be carried with Full or Dinner Dress uniforms with end clips fastened<br />

together. If you plan to form an arch of swords, through which the bridal party will pass,<br />

swords should be drawn outside the house of worship.<br />

3.L. GRADUATION CEREMONIES<br />

Participants in graduation ceremonies may not wear graduation caps, tassels, gowns or<br />

academic hoods with the <strong>Coast</strong> <strong>Guard</strong> uniform. The wearing of any civilian ceremonial<br />

regalia is prohibited while in uniform. Personnel awarded degrees above Bachelor of<br />

Arts or Sciences may drape the academic hood over the left forearm only.
