The standard necktie is a CG blue,<br />

four-in-hand style necktie not<br />

exceeding three inches in width of<br />

either hand tied or clip on type.<br />

The black or white bow ties are of<br />

a plain style with squared ends.<br />

Bow ties may be hand tied or a<br />

clip on type, approximately 4 ½<br />

inches wide.<br />

The tab tie is <strong>Coast</strong> <strong>Guard</strong> blue.<br />

The front portion of the necktie is<br />

comprised of two tabs joined<br />

together and overlapping to form a<br />

V-shaped opening at the shirt<br />

collar.<br />

The black tab tie is the same<br />

design as the women’s CG blue<br />

tab tie.<br />

The Navy’s old style black bow tie<br />

(pre-tied) is an authorized option<br />

to the black tab tie.<br />

The standard necktie may have a<br />

Windsor, double Windsor, or a fourin-hand<br />

Manner of Wear<br />

The tie is fastened at the back of the<br />

neck under the shirt collar. The<br />

outer edges should be parallel to the<br />

outer edges of the collar. An equal<br />

amount of the overlapping tabs<br />

should show on each side of the<br />

collar.<br />
