3.C.10. Shoes and Socks<br />
Shoes will be made of smooth leather, combinations of synthetic materials and leather, or<br />
a high gloss synthetic leather substitute. Shoes with high gloss synthetic upper portions<br />
(generally known as Corfram�) will not be worn aboard <strong>Coast</strong> <strong>Guard</strong> vessels or aircraft<br />
unless specifically authorized by the commanding officer for short-term temporary uses.<br />

Women – Pumps and Flats<br />
Pumps or flats will be plain in style,<br />
with no decoration, made of smooth<br />
black or white, leather or synthetic<br />
material. Sole edges and heels will<br />
be the same color as the shoe. The<br />
heels and the toes will be closed in.<br />
The heel may be 1 to 2 5/8 inches<br />
high and no less than 1/2 inch wide<br />
at the floor. A flat wedge style sole<br />
which rises 1 inch is authorized.<br />
Pumps have been removed from<br />
the required Seabag and are now<br />
an optional item, but become<br />
mandatory if any of the optional<br />
skirts are worn.<br />
