En ce qui me concerne, j’ai depuis nuancé ma pensée sur certains points, par exemple la relation avec leur modèle supposé des pièces pour luth qui ont des concordances dans le répertoire de l’air de cour – je préfère à présent parler, sauf lorsque la dérivation est indubitable, de parallèles vocaux – et, en général, des arrangements pour luth avec leur modèle. Dans mes travaux plus récents, je m’efforce d’aller encore plus loin dans la différenciation des versions des pièces concordantes par la comparaison détaillée des variantes. Je prends aussi bien davantage en considération, désormais, les aspects matériels du support, forcément négligés ici puisque je n’ai eu connaissance de la plupart des sources qu’à travers des supports de substitution. Une étude plus approfondie de 9-US-Cn 7.Q.5 en vue de l’édition citée plus haut m’a convaincu que le rédacteur de ce manuscrit ne pouvait être Mesangeau, alors que je n’excluais pas cette possibilité dans le mémoire. Sans doute les considérations sur les anciens possesseurs et l’arrière-plan historique de certaines sources pourraient-elles aussi être améliorées par des recherches plus poussées. Ainsi, j’ai fait trop confiance à l’un des noms d’usage du manuscrit pour l’identification du rédacteur de 1-Balcarres 7 , et le chapitre consacré à 16-Botnia est entièrement périmé sur le plan historique 8 ; on m’accordera toutefois qu’il était matériellement difficile, dans Index des noms Index des titres
