First Edition. One of 6000 copies. ‘Visionaire No. 28’ Fashion Quarterly. Presents ‘the greatest story ever
told’ – retold in images by modern-day artists and photographers. The intent was to make an issue that was
visually provocative but not blasphemous or gratuitously. Excerpts passages from the King James Bible.
Mario Testino photographed Adam and Eve. Wolfgang Tillmans contributed the Crucifiction; Andreas
Gursky’s image of a rave became the Exodus; Steven Meisel imaged the Apocalypse. Other contributers
include Frank Gehry, Todd Eberle, Gregory Crewdson, Chrstopher Bucklow, Jack Flanagan, Nan Goldin,
Karl Lagerfeld, and many more. Amost handsome individually numbered example with the Philippe Starck
conceived plastic case.

First Edition. BMC IV, 833,179. Byne and Stapley were members of ‘The Hispanic Society of America’. Rare
publication on houses, their interiors and gardens in Mallorca, dating from the early 1500s to the early 1800s.
Illustrated with 188 (partly coloured) full page photographs, maps schematics, plans etc.. One of the most significant
and respected studies of Mediterranean architecture and landscaping. At the end a brief bibliography on books
about Mallorca. Mild rubbing to the binding, spine sunned, a fine copy.

[1918], 42 pages of splendid luminous colour illustrations of products with numbered
page markers, original black leatherette boards decoratively lettered in gilt, bound with

medal on inner cover). The company’s founder David McConnell from New York was originally a travelling
representative for the Union Publishing Company. He disvovered that books were becoming increasingly difficult
to sell to the women who opened the door to the tavelling salesman. In 1892 the perfumes became a product for
sale and in 1915 the company won the gold medal at the Panama-Pacific International Exposition. In 1939 the
company became the AVON Company. Some rubbing at the edges of the boards, some alternations in prices in
pencil or ink, else very good.
