3 CONTENT: Enviro$en$e appears to be a major source of pollution prevention data <strong>and</strong><br />

information in the making involving a federal agency network with distributed data management.<br />

Capabilities include a solvent umbrella that will allow users to search as many as sixteen<br />

component databases through a single comm<strong>and</strong> structure within the Internet environment. A<br />

major objective is to improve industry access to technical P2 information <strong>and</strong> assisting industry<br />

in implementing P2 alternatives.<br />

3 CONTENT: The EPA initiated the Industrial Pollution Prevention Project in 1991 to assist the<br />

agency in determining how pollution prevention can be incorporated into EPA’s assessment of<br />

best available technology for specific industries. The program has involved sponsorship of<br />

research studies, demonstration project, <strong>and</strong> outreach activities.<br />
