We saw in Chapter 9, on quantum wells, quantum wires and quantum dotes, that the<br />

dimensionality of the system has a pronounced effect on its properties. This is one of<br />

the dramatic new fac<strong>to</strong>rs that makes nanoscience so interesting. In this appendix we<br />

gather <strong>to</strong>gether some of the important formulas that summarize the role played by<br />

dimensionality.<br />
