Niezwykłym świadkiem<br />

Składa się z trzech części, przeznaczonych<br />
dla chrześcijan trzech<br />
wyznań: katolickiego, ewangelicko-<br />
-augsburskiego i prawosławnego.<br />
Porównywany czasem z warszawskimi<br />
Powązkami, jest prawdziwą<br />
skarbnicą zabytków sepulkralnych,<br />
jak np. neogotycka kaplica-mauzoleum<br />
Karola Scheiblera. Z pochowanym<br />
w tej kaplicy „królem bawełny”<br />
związany jest Księży Młyn, największy<br />
kompleks urbanistyczny, swoiste<br />
miasto w mieście.<br />

is the Old Cemetery in<br />
Ogrodowa Street. This exceptional<br />
necropolis comprises of three<br />
parts designated for Catholics,<br />
Evangelical-Augsburg and Orthodox<br />
denominations.<br />
Compared to Powazki Cemetry<br />
in Warsaw, it is the treasure of<br />
sepulchral monuments, the most<br />
significant of which is The Chapel<br />
of Karl Scheibler, located next to<br />
the Old Evangelical-Augsburg Cemetery,<br />
a masterpiece of neo-Gothic<br />
architecture. The industrial<br />
magnate who was buried here<br />
has contributed to textile industry<br />
development and created the<br />
large industrial empire at Ksiezy<br />
Mlyn (The Priest’s Mill), which is<br />
also the biggest urban complex in<br />
Lodz, a city within the city.<br />
